I established SMS Marketing in 1999 in pursuit of a goal to run my own business and to fulfil a lifelong passion to plan, organise and plan!
My foundations for event management began when I worked for Parks Victoria for five years in their corporate marketing and events area. Here I was given the enviable opportunity to coordinate Parks Victoria's promotional and contractual involvement in a number of major events such as Melbourne Moomba Festival, Marvellous Melbourne Jazz Festival and the Club Marine National Boat Show and Fishing Expo, as well as organising a number of media / ministerial launches and developing event policies and guidelines for the organisation. I was then given the opportunity to lead the year long celebrations to commemorate 100 years of national parks in Victoria overseeing the delivery of 95 events and activities around the state. My role in the celebrations was recognised when I became a finalist award in the 1999 Young Australian of the Year awards. The celebrations were also recognised as winners in the 1999 Victorian Tourism Awards and 1999 AMI Public Sector Marketing Awards.
After a move to Gippsland 10 years ago, I decided this was the ideal time to launch SMS Marketing. Drawing on the skills attained at Parks Victoria and my degree in Environmental Planning and Design from Melbourne University, I embarked on the journey of building an event management company. Over time new opportunities presented and I began branching out into strategic planning and tourism marketing.
I am a mum to three beautiful young children and enjoy a great lifestyle with my family on the Mornington Peninsula whilst fulfilling my aspirations of building a boutique and well respected consultancy offering excellence in project management.
